What is Rolfing™?

Rolfing™, named after its founder Dr. Ida Rolf™. Is a system of manual manipulation therapy. Similar to massage in approach, but with different goals in mind. Where massage aims to target strain and pain in a specific muscle that is having issues, Rolfing™ is more focused in the tissue surrounding the muscles known as Fascia as well as the body’s interaction with gravity at the joints.
By focusing on structural realignment, the overall goal of Rolfing™ is to create a more integrated body that has space for the muscles, tendons and ligaments to properly be utilized which in turn alleviates aches and pains and can prevent them from coming back. This Leads to an increased quality of life and overall health wellness and prosperity.

There is a lot more I can say about the pros vs. cons of Rolfing™ over massage and differences between both styles. What the process is like and what to expect from each session and treatment. It is important to know that one Rolfing™ treatment is ten individual sessions done weekly with specific territorial goals and regions worked on each time. This is NOT a full body once over. These sessions are done sequentially and purposefully after more than 60 years of fine tuning what is referred to as the "recipe" for Rolfing™.
